A Boutique Hotel

There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the hotel’s location is good. Our room was big enough and the bathroom was nice, but the beds were so hard that my family couldn’t sleep comfortably. Breakfast was just moderate, though it’s fine if you’re not particular about breakfast.

You can see Doi Suthep mountain from outside, and some rooms have a nice view. This hotel is less than two years old and sits right beside the desirable Mee Chok, Rimping Market complex, with McDonalds, Subway, KFC, the locally famous Rimping Supermarket, other ethnic eateries, and shops. It’s a good base if you want to avoid the Old City’s congestion and high prices, while still being only a 10-15 minute Tuk Tuk, Red Truck (Song Tau), or Meter Taxi ride away. Hemingway’s description of a “Clean well lighted place” fits it well. Room rates currently run from 850 to 1200 baht and include a decent Asian/American breakfast, about $27.00 USD total for room, breakfast, tax, and so on. I highly recommend the hotel and location for families or individuals who don’t want the Old City’s overwhelming touristy atmosphere, which I find dirty, smelly, and crowded around the clock. You can walk a few kilometers to the Ping River, or bike or rent a motorcycle if you enjoy taking risks. If you want to experience the “real” Chiang Mai Thailand, this is the perfect place.

A comfortable place, clean and tidy.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The service was very poor, the staff were unfriendly, and the breakfast was the worst ever.
