Banilah

A really unique place, and the welcome was a pleasant surprise. The staff are great and helpful. We stayed for up to 11 nights, and they even helped us when we had food poisoning. The rooms are cleaned regularly and kept very clean, and they provide water. The cats at the cafe have great personalities.

The room was spacious and clean, and the owner and staff were the nicest people, always ready to help. They lend out bikes for getting around town. I especially liked the good night note left on our bed that first night, such a thoughtful detail. We had a private twin room and would definitely recommend staying here.

On arrival, the owner or staff member gave us a map and marked places to visit around the area and in chiang Mai, including plenty of spots to eat. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Our room was in good shape and cleaned daily; it had a fan, mosquito net, desk, and decent bathroom. The hostel’s public Cafe has 10 cats, so animal lovers will like it. I’d book Banilah again anytime. Thanks for the great service!

We stayed in two Chiang Mai hostels, and Banilah was clearly better for value. The room was tidy and clean, and the shower had warm water, but the staff were the best part. Nancy was especially helpful: she gave us a detailed introduction to Chiang Mai, sorted out our laundry when none of the shops could do it, and even took us to the airport. Really good value for money. I’d recommend it 1000%.
