The peaceful pool grounds and the friendly, welcoming staff were real highlights. Chala Number 6 has a relaxed, leafy feel, with artistic touches around the property that made it feel like a green hideaway in lively Chiang Mai. We appreciated the small complimentary breakfast and especially the high-quality afternoon tea. Our Superior Room faced the inner corridor toward the spa. It had no balcony, but the position kept it quiet and away from the school noise mentioned in other reviews. The twin beds were comfortable. The pillows felt a bit firm to me, though that's personal preference. The room could work better. The Japanese toilet was fantastic, but there was no counter or shelf space for toiletries, so I ended up using the laundry basket to hold my things. A simple shelf or wider vanity would help. There was a desk chair, but no comfortable spot to sit and relax, despite plenty of floor space. A small armchair or cozy nook would make lounging easier. It's a beautiful, stylish hotel with a lot of heart. Fixing the storage and seating would make it a five-star experience for me. We'd definitely return for the peace and quiet.

The location made it easy to get to nearby restaurants and attractions, and the hotel was excellent value. My room was cozy, clean, and had all the facilities I needed. Whenever I needed help, the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. I had a wonderful stay and would gladly come back. Highly recommend!

The spa massage was divine and left us feeling wonderfully relaxed. We also had spectacular meals at Chala Thai Restaurant, where the refined dishes showed off the richness of Thai cuisine. Each morning's breakfast was exceptional too. Our magnificent suite and the beautiful grounds, with their lush garden and impressive pool, made the stay feel like a luxurious retreat in the center of Chiang Mai's Old City. The staff were attentive and warm, taking such good care of us that we felt truly special. Chala Number 6 was close to perfect.

I stayed here in February 2026, and it might be my favorite hotel ever. The place is immaculate, the rooms are really large, and there's unlimited water and snacks. The service was amazing and everyone was so kind. It's in a wonderful spot right near one of the main temples. Coming back after long days of exploring felt so nice. I miss it already and would definitely return if I'm in Chiang Mai again.

The staff are very nice, as is usually the case in Thailand, and the hotel is quiet despite being close to many of the things people want in Chiang Mai. The rooms are pretty basic, though, and I'd skip the breakfast in favor of a nearby local café. My biggest concern is how sharply the nightly rates have gone up. My family spends quite a bit of time in Thailand every year, and we've seen prices go from really good deals to very high rates for basic stays, and even for amenities you don't really need in a hotel. Above $200 a night, I think you're overpaying.
