Chapter 3 Hostel is clean, cozy, and very well placed for exploring Chiang Mai, less than a minute’s walk from the old town. The rooms and shared spaces are maintained well and comfortable, with no air-con. It’s affordable and good value, but it’s a simple Thai-style place for travelers who want a no-frills stay, not five-star amenities or service. The steps are a little higher than average, though that’s a small thing. Definitely worth it!

We booked the whole place on AirBnB and were really happy with it. There are four rooms, each with its own bathroom on the floor, three beds, a balcony, and a TV. The house was spotless, the sheets clean, and the pillows soft and comfortable. The washer worked really well, our host was very responsive, and we had no problems. Entry with the keypad was simple. It’s right outside the old city and easy to get around. The Saturday night market and Gate market are both within a five-minute walk. The main drawback is the bottom floor, which is all glass, with no way to cover it, so people passing on the street can see inside. We mostly spent our time upstairs in our rooms or outside.
