CM City Hostel

I was in Chiang Mai in Jan, 2019, and had a very pleasant stay here. The owners were friendly, my roommates from South America were really sweet, and breakfast was delicious. I'd love to stay at this hostel again on a future visit.

Noi was the highlight for me. She was always around and incredibly helpful, even letting me shower and have tea early in the morning before check-in. Dinner is available at the hostel too, with a few basic, very cheap dishes that I believe Noi and her staff prepare themselves. The rooms have air-con, and the beds have curtains for privacy, including the top bunks, which I haven't seen in many hostels. It's about a 15-minute walk to the old town, but the area is quieter and has a minimarket, street food, and shops nearby. WiFi was great most of the time, though when it stopped working, restarting the router fixed it in seconds.

The staff's "no problem" motto really held up during our stay. Everyone was friendly, and the place was clean. There are drinks like beer and Pepsi in the lobby, and laundry service right next door. The location worked well for us, with the main Farang area and the 3d art museum just up the street.

It was good enough, and I liked staying here. If you're traveling solo and don't meet anyone, Thai Thai hostel is just around the corner. You can go hang out there with the other solo travelers.
