Don’t stay here if you have another option. The private room wasn’t terrible, but it was just a small square with room for the bed and our luggage on the floor. My boyfriend and I stayed three nights. There was never anyone at reception, and nobody came to clean. The bathrooms stayed dirty the whole time, and we preferred using the ones at Burger King. The AC was there, but the remote’s batteries were dead, so bring AAA batteries if you still decide to stay. At night, a horrible, strong smell filled the hostel hallway. It eased during the day but never went away. We eventually realized the neighbors were either getting very drunk every night or taking baths in cheap alcohol. The smell of alcohol was always there. We saw three other guests. They were unfriendly and acted strangely, only greeting us when they saw us leaving with our suitcases. On our last morning, there was rat poop by the door, with droppings leading all the way into our room. The gap under the door was big enough for a foot to fit through. The rat had chewed a big hole in the base of my boyfriend’s travel backpack, and even got through the shoes he had stored at the bottom. We’d been traveling around Southeast Asia for two months and know you get what you pay for, but this was far too much. If you can stay somewhere else, do.
