Good Deal Hostel

We paid through the Expedia app, but on arrival they kept trying to charge us again and came up with every excuse. The pool was empty, and it was the only reason we booked. We said we’d go elsewhere, then were assured it would be filled the next day. Two days later it was still empty, and he kept changing the story. It felt like he was blatantly lying to us. The shower never got hot, and the WiFi was mostly good but cut out now and then. Tours through the hostel cost much more than elsewhere, and they were very pushy about selling them. Laundry was double the price of a place a short walk away. Whenever we went out, staff came into the room to turn off the AirCon and unplug the fan, so it was too hot when we got back. On our last night, after we’d been away only a short time, they switched off the AirCon, unplugged the fan, and took the remote, leaving us without AirCon for the night. I was shocked by other reviews describing how rude the host is. He has no manners and just insults people in response. There are a ridiculous number of rules here. Reviews on hostel world and tripadvisor also say they try to scam everyone out of more money.
