Good Sleep Guest House

Our stay in mid January 2025 was really pleasant. I was unsure about booking because the guesthouse costs less than many others, but the “Homey Family” room on the top floor turned out to be extremely comfortable. It’s a large, bright room, the ACs worked well, and the toilet was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The guesthouse was clean and well managed by one staff member, who was consistently kind, helpful, and sincere. There were simple extras like snacks and water, which felt like plenty for what we paid. The quiet, uncrowded area also made getting around easy. The drive from the airport took around 15 minutes. The Old City and the Silver Temple are about a 10-minute walk away, as is the Michelin-noted khao soi lung prakit kad kom. There’s also a good chicken rice place within a minute’s walk, and there weren’t many tourists around. A few things to plan for: there’s no toothpaste or toothbrush, and there’s no lift. The Homey Family room is on the second floor, up three unusually steep sets of stairs, which may not work well for elderly guests. Soap and shampoo were provided, but ran out early. We could probably have asked the reception lady to refill them and she likely would have, but we didn’t. Bring toiletries or be ready to buy them nearby. If you want a comfortable stay in Chiang Mai without hotel-esque luxuries, this is a very good choice. I hope to visit again.
