Great Chiangmai Hostel

I’ve visited Chiang Mai twice, and both times I stayed at this hotel. It’s right in the middle of town, with plenty to do nearby and famous spots within walking distance. The price feels fair, and the room was reasonably quiet and clean. The light was a bit dim, though, and the air conditioner seemed a little old.

Near the north gate and very close to the night food market, this was an excellent hotel. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really helpful when they printed some documents for me. I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Chiang Mai.

I checked in and stayed two nights without seeing or hearing from anyone until checkout, which was fine for a no-fuss hotel. The location is great. It’s already a little run down, but nothing that affected my stay. I didn’t try the breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.

I’ve never had a hotel worker speak to me so rudely. When I asked about washing clothes in my room, the front desk guy said I couldn’t wash them there and that I’d have to pay for their cleaning service. I was surprised, and then he asked if I wanted to see the video he had.
