Green Lake Resort

We brought 40 students for a bootcamp and made good use of the spacious facilities, park, lake, and bicycles. The service was great, and the meeting rooms were excellent, making this a good fit for seminars and large groups.

For my birthday, the staff brought a cake and fresh roses to my room, which was lovely. It’s a quiet place away from the noisy city center, with beautiful mountain views and nice surroundings for walking or riding. Most of the tourists there seemed to be local.

My balcony room overlooking the pool is spacious, comfortable, clean, and cool, and the reception staff were professional and very nice. I got here from Bangkok after a 12 hour night train journey. I’d booked well ahead, yet the resort is almost empty, and after four days I’m the only Australian/Englishman here. The large dining room serves breakfast and dinner, the food is wonderful, and the service is top notch, with lots of smiles and bowing.

The beds are comfortable and still firm, unlike the overly hard beds in many Thai hotels. The rooms are nice and clean, and the wifi is decent, though the signal isn’t strong everywhere. Pools and outdoor areas are kept tidy. I was here over Xmas, when company parties played music in the evenings until around 11pm, and I imagine that happens at other times of the year too. The hotel sits directly under the airplane route, so planes are quite audible, although CM airport isn’t super busy. Next time I’d ask for building 3: the top floor has some mountain view and a balcony that stays in the shade during the day. A very nice experience overall.
