The breakfast is a real highlight here. You can order as much as you like from the special menu, which has more choices than the Reform Kafe breakfast menu. It’s all vegan, and even the carnivores seem to enjoy it. The food was delicious, as were the Reform Kafe lunch and dinner options. We spend a lot of time in Chiang Mai and usually pick mid-range hotels. Green Tiger House is my favorite, even though I like some others too. The rooms are simple rather than fancy, but comfortable and roomy enough for two. Staff are friendly, the neighborhood is quiet, and we had a lovely view of the mountains and sunsets. The pool is small, like at most Chiang Mai hotels, but a pleasant place to sit. Wifi worked well. Getting there can be a little awkward. It’s tucked into a neighborhood, and some drivers have trouble bringing larger cars or vans all the way in. Our airport driver managed fine in a larger vehicle. With Grab, we sometimes walked three or four blocks to a main road so more drivers would accept the pickup. We also had drivers meet us at the main street entrance to Wat Khuan Khama. Tuk Tuks can get in and out without trouble.

We came to Chiang Mai planning to try vegan places all over town, but ended up eating most of our meals at the Reform Cafe downstairs. Not one disappointed us, and we’ll definitely stay at Green Tiger House again. The room was basic but clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with amazing mountain views. The whole hotel has a calming feel, and with the cafe right there, you might not feel like going anywhere else. It’s hard to imagine getting better value.

The fresh, delicious food was a highlight, especially the coconut yogurt, which blew me away. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable, and the hotel’s own toiletries felt natural and pleasant to use. I like that staying here supports vegan businesses. And the cats were lovely too.

The only real problem for my wife and me was the pillows. They were so thick that we both woke up with sore necks. I asked reception for a different kind, but was told they’re the same throughout the hotel. It would be helpful to offer both thick and thin pillows so people can choose what’s comfortable for them. The staff, food, location, and rooms were otherwise fantastic.

Breakfast had lots of tasty choices and generous portions. I’m not vegan, but enjoyed it a lot, and the cats were a lovely extra. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, and the hotel is very well located. The staff were really lovely too. I’d definitely recommend it.
