Karinthip Village

The pool and its surroundings were lovely, and the staff were friendly. The location worked well too, within walking distance of Tha Phae Gate, the walking street markets, and the nightly Bizaar Markets. This was our second stay in Chiang Mai, and we enjoyed it. Karinthip is quite old, the shower doesn't get hot enough (a common problem everywhere), and the beds and pillows are hard. Still, it's cheap, and you get what you pay for.

The staff were cold and unfriendly, and the pool looked dirty. Cleaning was very poor and seemed to take less than five minutes. The bathroom was broken, the shower pressure was almost nonexistent, and the furniture was old. The whole place is run-down, dirty, and nothing like the photos. There were plenty of empty rooms, but we were put in one of the worst ones. It left me with a strong feeling of unfair treatment, like we didn't deserve a better room, and it felt like discrimination. The experience was unpleasant and disappointing. I definitely don't recommend this hotel.

The pool area was amazing, and the service was kind with easy communication. There weren't enough loungers for everyone, though. The showers were cold. Since we stayed only one night, we didn't complain during the stay, but we did mention it when checking out.

The location is handy, walking distance from both the Night Bazaar and Old Town, but set away from the main road. The room was spacious enough for our family of four. Maintenance needs attention: our bathroom entrance had a raised mosaic tile, the kettle base was broken, and the WiFi was disconnected because the bills hadn't been paid.
