L Minitel

I like small rooms, so this one suited me perfectly. It's affordable, and surprisingly quiet and comfortable for somewhere near a night market. There's no refrigerator or room cleaning service, but I was fine with that.

I stayed five nights as a solo female traveler and was very comfortable in my compact, clean room. The staff were polite, really helpful, and ready to assist with whatever I needed. The lobby had a water dispenser and coin-operated washing machines. Free coffee, tea, and snacks were a nice touch, and you can buy instant noodles and drinks if you get hungry late at night. There are lots of food options and shopping nearby, so the location is convenient. Now and then you might hear people singing outside, but it usually stops by 11 PM. Light sleepers may want earplugs. I had a great stay, the price was reasonable, and I'd recommend the place.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, each with its own shower and toilet, but they're very small. That's the only reason I wouldn't give L'minitel five stars. For short-term tourists, the location near the Loi Kroh and Changklang junction is superb. Staff are helpful and friendly, and booking at the property costs about 500 baht, or $15. Those nasty online booking sites ask up to $25, so I don't use them anymore.

My room had a bit of a smell, but for just one night I didn't mind. The bathroom was large, and they provided good shampoo and soap along with big towels. The room itself was barely bigger than the bed and only had a window facing the hallway. Still, for a cheap room in such a good location, it's a great option. The night market starts right at the hotel door, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby during the day. The train station and bus terminal aren't too far either. Even in the worst traffic, a taxi takes under 30 minutes, and usually around 15.
