Lanna Oriental Hotel

We really enjoyed the pool, and our stay was great. The room had enough space and everything we needed. The staff welcomed us warmly, and even packed breakfast for our very early departure. We also had breakfast at the hotel one morning. The buffet was well prepared and offered plenty of choices, though fewer Western options. For anyone who complains about that, when you're in another country, adapting to local customs is your responsibility, especially when most guests are Asian.

The location is good, but the hotel was such a disappointment that we left early. For three days, water dripped from our ceiling. They kept telling us to sleep in another room downstairs and collect our things upstairs in the morning. They couldn't move us because there was no space, so this happened day after day. The breakfast was disgusting and almost inedible, with spaghetti and old fruit. The pool is in the shade all day, every day.

We stayed two nights. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, though there was no balcony, which we hadn't booked. The air conditioning didn't work properly, but luckily there was a fan in the room to help with the heat at night. The hotel restaurant had delicious food, and I recommend the sweet and sour dolly fish. Breakfast was available, but it was cold both mornings, and I don't know why. The hotel is near the moat in a good area, with plenty of temples nearby. There's a small pool and pool bar, which were fine.

My husband and I had a lovely four-night stay. The staff were super friendly, and we liked the nice big bed, spacious bathroom, and balcony. The pool is enjoyable after a long day, with a bar serving refreshments at good prices, though there isn't much room to sit. Breakfast was the one weak spot. Its quality didn't match the rest of the hotel, and all the options were Asian style.
