Mammoth Boutique Hotel

The building is beautiful, the manager is friendly, and our room was spacious enough for a family or four friends. It was quiet in the daytime, and the pool next door is a nice extra. Check-in took about 20-30 minutes because the staff member was away from the desk for a bit. We came over New Year's. Music went on until 4 a.m. or possibly later on the day we checked in, and it played again the next day. If you like partying, that may suit you. For a quiet holiday, bring soundproof headphones, because sleep will be hard. Two dogs nearby also barked between 5 and 7 a.m. The hotel can't control the music next door or the dogs, but it's good to know about them.

The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were really friendly. We had a lovely start to our Thailand trip here. The shower ran cool, which was the only small drawback, but it wasn't too bad. There's a pool you can use and a bar where you can hang out. Music played loudly in the evenings, though it didn't bother us. We'd come back.

The room costs 900thb. It's clean and stocked with lots of useful things, including a hairdryer, laundry perfume, handkerchiefs, and even a bamboo toothbrush. There's a pool next door for guests, although sometimes the gate is locked. Music from the neighboring party area plays every night until around 10, which was okay. No services here.

The room was clean, nicely equipped, and full of natural light. The pool was refreshing, and the place felt peaceful at first. Then around 6 p.m. the little poolside lounge, the Deep Green Gallery House, turns into a nightclub and the music goes on at least until midnight. Tonight is Halloween, so the DJ is apparently playing until 4 a.m. It's open air and only about 25 meters away. The club volume completely takes over the evenings, and our windows are literally vibrating. Whatever other reviews say about the noise, it's much worse than that. We were in a quiet paradise until the music started. It's not even a busy club, just unbelievably loud. They should tell guests before they book. If you want to sleep, I'd pass by the Mammoth and choose one of Chiang Mai's quieter boutique hotels.
