The Battery Park Midtown Boutique Hotel

The staff were unbelievable. When we couldn’t find a car to Pa Pae, they called several cab and bus companies to help us get a ride. It took over an hour, and they really went above and beyond. Our room was clean, with excellent air conditioning and a very comfortable bed. The location was good too, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. The internet dropped a few times, but we had no other issues, and the helpful staff more than made up for it.

It’s a nice, clean budget hotel, though parking is limited. The road in front is very narrow, and I think there are only three spaces on the property. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby, along with soda for sale. Right next door there’s a little shop with pretty much anything you might need for your room, like beer, water, soap, and toilet paper. They also cook good food, so you can sit out front and eat in the evening.

It was a comfortable place to unwind after the Mae Hong Son motorcycle loop. The Old City’s north-east wall is about a five-minute walk away, and the location worked well for us. The mattresses were reasonable and the rooms had air conditioning. Staff leave rooms alone unless you ask for fresh towels or cleaning, and they’ll make them up whenever you request it.

Our room was clean and comfortable, but the front desk lady is the reason for my five stars. She was so friendly and kind, answered all our questions about Chiang Mai, and helped arrange a cab when we were leaving for a remote jungle location that other drivers didn’t want to go to. It took a few hours to find a taxi. She contacted and spoke with several drivers and transportation services on our behalf. We really appreciated her generosity. Thank you so much!
