The room had good facilities, breakfast was free, and the location was good. But rain hitting the tin roof outside was so loud indoors that it was hard to sleep. Water also leaked into the stairwell, making it slippery. Reception didn't feel very friendly, and although they say it's staffed 24/7, as other reviews mention, we saw staff sleeping on the guest couches at night. One morning we were woken by a loud beeping in the hallway too.

We were put in room 201. The hotel sits down a small alley where pedestrians share a narrow pavement with passing motor vehicles every day. The room's single Mitsubishi fan coil unit couldn't cool it. Staff brought an electric fan, but it didn't help and just added more noise, so we slept in a warm room with a loud fan. Someone in room 204 had already raised the cooling problem in a Google review two years ago, and it still hadn't been fixed. I added a photo for reference. Rain in the middle of the night hitting the awning roof was loud and irritating, and I couldn't sleep. The room insulation is very poor, and there were lots of mosquitoes. The Samsung TV Plus channel went down. I asked the front desk for help, and it took an hour to reconnect the TV's Wi-Fi. This was a long way from the almost perfect 5-star Google rating. It's easy to find better places to stay in the old city.

I stayed for a week in late January and really enjoyed it. The staff were super friendly and happy to answer questions, and my room was nice, clean, and in good order. Breakfast was a favorite, mostly Thai food, with bread and jam for anyone wanting a Western option. I'd love to come back during my January stay next year. The one thing I'd fix is the room doors: their automatic closers make them slam hard, and a few times the bang woke me up. I go to bed early.

The rooms were quiet, clean and modern, and breakfast was tasty. The hotel is in the Old town, close to the lovely temples, plenty of good restaurants and great massage places.
