Nanya Hotel Chiang Mai

For a budget stay, this is a very good option with a convenient location and excellent value. The rooms are quite dim, which seems reflected in the price, but they're very clean and the amenities all work. The internet is excellent and the pool is a good size.

The room has a good bed and a table, and there's another table in the lobby, so it worked well for remote work. The place is clean and the location is good. But there isn't much privacy because the soundproofing is basically absent. You hear everything outside, and people can hear you too. On the first floor, a child yelling and crying at 6 am for two days woke everyone up. The room has no air circulation, and you can't open the windows. There's no wardrobe, so unpacking isn't possible, which is a big no for me. The pillows were too hard for me to sleep on. Keep in mind there's a pool and families stay here, so noise can depend a lot on who else is at the hotel. Not everyone knows how to behave.

We were a family of four and stayed for a week. The place is tucked just off the Old City's main road, so it was peaceful, yet only a two-minute walk from the main street. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the price was hard to beat. The rooms are basic and somewhat dated, but they were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and found it great value.

We stayed five nights in the off-season. It's a clean budget hotel in a good, quiet location, with nice staff, a clean pool, and a bed that was surprisingly comfortable. Temples and other things by the West Gate of the Old City are within walking distance. The low Booking.com ratings don't seem entirely fair for what this place is.
