The owner,Mr. Cai, is a Chinese-speaking landlord and developer who manages one of the nicest condominiums/guest houses. Ask for the larger room; three or four people can sleep there easily with room to spare. The next block looks the same, but don’t confuse it with this condo. It’s rented by the half year or year, has less space, and is usually empty except when groups of loud, rowdy China tourists are there. The condo is close to two major shopping centers, including Maya. My favorite is kad suen kaew, with cheap, good foot massages, a children’s playpen, computer mart, supermarket, phone accessories shop, and a great food center. There’s a weekend bazaar from Thursday through Saturday with everything a family needs. Just be warned, it’s an older shopping center, though the stuff there is cheap. The condo is a two-minute walk from the main road, so it’s not too noisy, and close enough to catch public transport to the airport, which is only a ten-minute drive away.

Everything you need is already in the apartment, from crockery and cutlery to coffee, water, and toiletries. It’s modern, beautifully furnished, and very quiet. The old walled city, malls, and supermarkets are all an easy walk away. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

We saw two rooms, and both were bad, one worse than the other. There was mold and dirt throughout, especially under the kitchen sink and in the shower, including the showerhead. The place smelled awful, and there were ants. When I plugged in a pot that was already in the room, the lights went out. A technician got them working again, but then the outlets had no power, so my boyfriend had to fix that himself. Staff also came into our room while we were out without telling us. I figured it out because our things had been moved and left around. The WiFi was okay, nothing special. The whole stay was terrible, and you can find a much better standard for the same price.

Keep in mind that payment is cash only, since there are no credit card facilities. The apartment itself has a small kitchen and dining area, a lounge, study space, bathroom, and separate bedroom, plus wardrobes and bedside tables. It could work for either a short or long stay. The serviced building is in a peaceful part of town, but the old city and two shopping centres are still within walking distance.

There are newer laundry machines in the parking area for tenants, and they seem to work well. It costs 20TB per load, and you can buy water from the office. The building is well maintained, while the staff and security are welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
