I’d suggest booking on the fourth floor. Those rooms felt much newer and nicer, were quieter, and had a big TV upgrade over the lower floors. The bathroom layout and shower were the same as downstairs, but the fourth-floor bathrooms were noticeably cleaner. We stayed four nights and could check in right away, with our fourth-floor rooms ready. We had to book two different rooms, though, so we spent the first two nights upstairs, checked out, then stayed two nights on the first floor. Agoda clearly stated this when we booked, so it wasn’t a surprise, and the first-floor rooms cost less anyway. Downstairs was loud and didn’t feel very secure. There was a lot more visible mold in the first-floor bathroom, and we could hear people above and below us. At 2 a.m., a group of drunk guests tried to get into our room, which was frustrating. The location is great, with excellent coffee and food nearby. The hotel buffet and restaurant are amazing.

We liked the convenient location, the low price for the quality, and the cafe just outside. Lots of places were close enough to walk to, so we didn’t need a ride. But the nightclub outside our room played insanely loud music every night until 2 a.m. The shower heater also never got above 32°C, far too cold for a shower. It could work well for a short stay, but for more than 3 or 4 nights, bring earplugs and sleeping medication, and be ready for a cold shower.

We were a family of four adults, and the family room with two king beds gave us enough space to spread out. It was clean, spacious and comfortable, with comfy beds, a strong shower, powerful air conditioning and steady Wi-Fi. We arrived early and were glad the room was ready so we could rest after our flight. Le Naview is conveniently placed in the Old Town, a few minutes’ walk from Wat Phra Singh and several beautiful temples. With the hotel car park, it was also an easy spot to catch Grabs. The hotel is right by the Sunday Night Market and other markets along the old town wall. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend coming to Chiang Mai over the weekend to make the most of the food, farmer and craft markets.

The rooms are large, clean and good, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel restaurant serves local and international food, and the value is excellent. Laundry service was excellent too, for washing rather than dry cleaning. Across the road there’s bike and motorcycle hire, along with two very good Thai masage centres, so services the hotel doesn’t offer are close by.
