Boutique House Nipha

A charming little boutique hotel in a lovely neighborhood, with thoughtful design and very kind staff. Roshon was especially sweet and made it feel like home while I was there.

The green grounds are quiet, and our spacious room was nicely decorated. We liked the cute, stylish look of the hotel, and the price made it very good value. Derek was a big part of what made the stay enjoyable. He’s friendly, helpful, and happy to offer advice about exploring Chiang Mai. He told us about some Chinese restaurants that turned out to be quite good. Thanks, Derek, for making the first few days of our stay easy and pleasant.

I picked this place because I needed laundry after a jungle trip, and it’s near Otteri. There’s also a 7-11, Lotus, and a local fresh market not far away. I ordered through LineMan, found plenty of good restaurant choices, and the rider arrived quickly. The room was clean and comfortable, and a decent size, though a bit old-fashioned. Some of the plugs may not work properly. The staff were friendly, and the owner, who lives here, was very positive and nice. I nearly gave it five stars, but there was loud talking from a nearby room from around midnight until 1:30 a.m. I went down to tell them.

The people are what made our stay at Boutique House Nipha so special. Roshan greeted us warmly, and Derek made sure we had what we needed. He took us to a moto shop to rent a moto and even got us a discount. When we got sick from too much street food, they both did what they could to keep us comfortable while we recovered. They also let us store our luggage while we rode the Mae Hong Son Loop, and Derek suggested beautiful places off the usual route. We enjoyed the spots he recommended. We booked a week, extended for another, and stayed again after returning from Mae Hong Son. We left feeling like family, and when we come back to Chiang Mai, this is where we want to stay. The property has lots of charm and brings a peaceful feeling to a bustling city. The rooms are all different and eclectic, and the property stretches across both sides of the street. Its location near the southern gate is good. You can walk to some places nearby, though a bike or scooter brings everything closer. This isn’t the ritz, it’s comfortable living with world-class hosts. @followbrownbacon
