The check-in and check-out staff were welcoming and friendly. Food by the pool tasted good, but finding someone to take an order was hit and miss. The stay was fine overall. The hotel feels very dated, with lots of brown, painted wood, dark purple furniture, and frills. It has an old-school look and could use some freshening up or modernization to feel more like what you’d expect from a Shangri-La. Our rooms weren’t especially clean. There were crisp crumbs, dust, and hair bands on the floors when we arrived, as if they hadn’t been cleaned. I’d have liked more pillow choices too, since the ones provided were very flat. The pool isn’t great for relaxing because the children’s area isn’t separate from the rest, so it’s hard to get away from the noise. Families might like that setup more.

The staff were friendly and usually got things done, though sometimes they were a little slow to respond to requests. I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is well placed near the night market, and the rooms were comfortable, spacious, and nicely decorated. The bed felt a bit too soft for me, but that’s just personal preference. There were complimentary snacks and bottled water in the room. There’s a pool, though the water was a little cold for me in February. Hotel guests can use the health spa, which has a jacuzzi, sauna, and separate male and female toilets and changing areas.

The kids had a great time at the complimentary club activities, which you book in advance, and that gave us a chance to relax while they were there. Staff were friendly throughout, and the service, breakfast, and pool area were all great. We stayed seven nights in February 2026 for a 40th birthday, and the hotel surprised us with a small cake, a lovely gesture. There were four of us in one room, including children aged 5 and 3, and they provided an extra bed. The location is handy, within walking distance of the daily Night Bazaar. My one complaint is the pool: it was so cold we couldn't swim or even relax in it. A little heating would help. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it, especially for families with young kids.

Sally made our stay feel special, leaving cute elephant and dog towel designs each morning. The bar drinks were good too, and Doy and Kinsley were great. We booked two rooms for our family for December 20-24. The family room was spacious, had two beds ready, and a great view; the other room was comfortable and well maintained. Check-in was warm and easy, with tea on arrival and elephant keychains for my daughters. Staff were thoughtful and professional throughout. Entry security also made us feel safe: vehicles were checked and bags screened before we came in. The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes' walk from two 7-Eleven stores, Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, and Anusarn Market. We had a wonderful time and would book here again.

The service deserves 5/5. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and Praewa at check-in went out of her way to arrange a room upgrade. They also decorated it for our child's birthday with a giant teddy bear they loved and a fruit platter. We were grateful for the upgrade and the effort to make the birthday special. The food was weaker, around 3/5 at most. We had two buffet breakfasts and one dinner, and compared with the Marriott where we'd stayed just before, the quality wasn't as good. Breakfast was very average for a hotel with staff and service of this quality. The dinner meat was dry, tough, and low quality.
