Sleep Airtport Hotel Chiang Mai

The rooms are small but clean, and the hot water works well. It’s about 7 minutes from the airport and worth the price. The hotel is in a residential area, so you can use Grab if you want food. Seven Eleven is a 10-15 minute walk away.

The one upside is that it’s fairly close to the city center. The neighborhood isn’t pleasant to stay in, though, and the hotel is terrible and very cheap, nothing like the pictures. I don’t recommend it.

There’s nowhere to make drinks, and the shared carpark opposite can be a problem because you may get boxed in. The rooms feel depressing, with a musky smell and threadbare carpets. It’s a drab, worn old concrete block that seems due for a major renovation. You can find much better quality elsewhere for the same price, so avoid it.

The hotel is a short drive from the airport and a little farther from the bus station. For 500 baht, you get a big bed and a hot shower. It’s a cosy place that works well for travellers, and there’s northern Thai street food a block away that I’d recommend over breakfast. Overall, a great stay for the price.
