The An-Teak Chiang Mai

The care in the little details really stood out, even down to the lavender-smelling towels. It felt like a home away from home, and I loved staying here. The hotel is new, clean, centrally located, and family-owned, with the owners on site. They speak perfect English, and the sister runs a wonderful coffee shop downstairs. Security is excellent, with solid teak doors and deadbolts. After 9 p.m., an electronic key card opens the lobby door, or the owner can let you in if you forget yours.

Fresh and Wraps Restro downstairs was so convenient, with healthy juices, lattes, and French toast, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The towels, floors, shampoo, and soap all smelled lovely, and the owner was super helpful. The Wi-Fi was great too. We had a really pleasant time. I can imagine the moat side getting loud during festivals, but in low season the bit of traffic worked as nice white noise for us.

I’ve never found a more comfortable place or a nicer person in Chiang Mai. I can’t put into words how happy I was with the stay and the owner. Please stay here, be respectful, and enjoy it.

The service was warm and friendly, and the location is great, about a 10-minute walk from Tha Phae Gate. Red car cabs are easy to catch anywhere in the old city, and the fare is 20 THB per person.
