The Arak Bed Bar and Hostel

The staff were so accommodating, and the rooms were lovely too. We stayed on the third floor in a good-sized room with a city view and a balcony, nice for smoking or having coffee in the morning. We arrived before the room was ready and left well after checkout, but both times we could store our things in the common room and use the shower without paying extra. Breakfast options are limited to American or healthy breakfast, so don’t expect much, though the coffee is good.

The room was fairly priced, had the usual hotel amenities, and came with a nice balcony. The bed was comfortable too. The coffee is what made me want to write this, though. I ordered a cappuccino every day, and my wife got the Thai tea latte. Both were excellent. Highly recommended!

The location is great and the prices are very low, though not unusually low for Thailand. Just keep in mind that it’s right next to a loud road. In room 4, the sink didn’t drain properly and the shower smelled a bit.

It’s a decent hotel, but if you’re looking for a hostel or party atmosphere, this probably isn’t for you. The view wasn’t really what I expected from “mountain view,” and being on the square’s main road meant nonstop traffic noise. Apart from the noise, I had no complaints.
