Villa ALANNA

The room was a real plus: a comfortable bed and pillows, good air-conditioning, plenty of clean towels, a refrigerator and safe, plus four free bottles of water. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's about a 10-minute walk to interesting places. That distance felt like a good thing to me, since the surroundings were quiet and less crowded. If you're in the front room by the road, daytime traffic is audible, but things calm down quite a bit at night. There's also a restaurant next door where you can order food. Its prices suit the clientele, though I didn't really order there. I had no complaints and it suited what I was looking for. I'd recommend it especially to couples.

Our mother-daughter trip to Villa Alanna from 21-24 August was such a relaxing stay. We left feeling refreshed and already thinking about coming back. The villa is peaceful, with lots of greenery, and the decor mixes modern comforts with Thai character. Our room was spacious and very clean. The staff were caring and attentive without hovering. They helped arrange transport and suggested local attractions, and we felt looked after as guests. The setting is quiet, but it's only a short drive to Chiang Mai's Old City, night markets, and cultural attractions, so it was easy to switch from relaxing to exploring. A serene, comfortable place with a warm welcome.

My family and I had a really relaxing, comfortable time at Villa Alanna. The room was spotless and so well kept it felt almost new. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, especially Nick and Phuong. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

The street noise was another unwelcome part of the stay. The accommodation itself is nice, but with two toddlers in the penthouse we were constantly on edge because staff seemed ready to charge for every small thing. Our little one stubbed a toe, so we used a towel to clean up the blood, and we were charged for the dirty towel. In over 10 years of travelling, that was a first for me. We were also charged 5000 for a broken glass, which was another first. For a place this expensive, I would expect the price to account for wear and tear such as a glass or a dirty towel. I don't think I'll return to this Vila.
