Chiang Rai Hotel

I was comfortable here for all three nights. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable too. Even with my do not disturb sign up, they left me water, toilet paper, snacks and coffee. Worth the price, and I’d stay again.

Basic rooms, but cheap and good, with good air conditioning and hot water. Perfect spot in the heart of the tourist area.

The place was clean, quiet and comfy for my two nights. Each day they brought extra water, treats, toilet paper and coffee. I’d only ask for plain black instant coffee in the room instead of the kind with creamer already mixed in. I’m allergic to dairy, and they charged me for black coffee, which didn’t really make sense to me.

The location was a highlight for me: near the Clock Tower and Night Bazaar, and walkable from bus terminal-1. The Blue Temple is about 20 minutes away, the White Temple around 30, and Grab and Bolt are easy to get right outside the lobby. Staff were courteous and helpful, and let us use the dining table and microwave to warm food. There’s also a small lobby shop for snacks, water and even alcohol. Our room was spacious for a family of three, with a hygienic, clean washroom and spotless beds and sheets. Some furniture looked dated and had a few stains, but cleanliness overall was impressive. There’s no lift, and reception staff may not be around to help with bags, so you might have to carry them upstairs yourself. Vehicles outside could bother light sleepers at night, though it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. The washroom had hot water, and the AC worked well, though nights in the city tend to be cool enough that you may not need it. Despite the small inconveniences, it was a fantastic stay and great value. I’d definitely stay again when I return to Chiang Rai.
