Na-Rak-O Resort

For the price, this was the best hotel we stayed at during four weeks in Thailand. It's right in the city center, with really friendly staff, comfortable beds, AC, and a reliably hot shower. Breakfast is free, and you make it yourself. Just fantastic, thanks so much!

We had a good stay and the staff were helpful and friendly. The price was reasonable, and there was a well-equipped kitchen with a place to sit. Guests get complimentary coffee and breakfast. Our room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. It's also very close to Chiang Rai's bus stop and night market, and I'd happily stay again.

The main market is within walking distance, and there's a handy motorbike rental right next door. We spent three nights here in a spacious, clean room. In the mornings guests can use the kitchen to prepare breakfast, with eggs, toast, tea, and coffee provided.

The room was spacious and clean, and the place was quiet. The kitchen had eggs, bread, a toaster, butter, and jam, though you have to cook the eggs yourself. The bathroom was cramped, and showering left the area around the toilet wet. The showerhead leaked and dripped. The check-in was the main reason I took off two stars. We arrived at 12:30 and were told we couldn't get into the rooms until 14:00. They suggested leaving our bags and walking around Chiang Rai in the afternoon heat. They didn't mention the upstairs seating area until I asked. While we waited there, nobody seemed to be cleaning rooms. Staff were hanging out in the lobby on their phones until 14:00.
