FUN-D Hostel Chiang rai

I found it a little farther from the center than I'd like, and it was nearly empty during my stay, so there wasn't much atmosphere. Still, it's a really solid, very clean hostel with a common room. The keycard locks made it feel secure, and each bed had a curtain, light and outlet. Those curtains were especially nice, giving you some privacy even in an 8-person dorm.

The owner and another staff member came by our room with a sheet of paper, and we ended up planning our temple trip together. That saved us a tremendous amount of time and money, especially since we needed to go before our flight the next morning. We'd originally told the owner we wanted to order a taxi, and she even lent us bicycles for free for the little journey. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was included and outstanding, and the staff were amazing.

The room was okay, but really, really basic, and walking into the city center wasn't pleasant. It felt like a ghost house, with what I think was just us staying there. The bar and restaurant have been closed since COVID and aren't going to reopen. There are much better options in Chiang Rai.

The dorm beds are wide and really comfortable, on the firm side, and the hostel is clean and modern. The staff were very helpful. If you're traveling as two, though, you can find guest houses around town that are better value.
