The bungalows sit right by a beautiful river, with a really lovely view. The river helps keep the temperature comfortable, and we slept without air conditioning. Mr Thep was especially nice and very helpful with any question or request. It’s a good fit if you want an eco-lodge or eco-retreat kind of experience. A little paradise not far from Chiang Rai. I really recommend it.

The common area is spacious, with nice places to lounge, and there’s a small river where you can enjoy the water. My boyfriend and I spent two nights in the bamboo hut. We had our own bathroom, a huge bed, and even a balcony. The homemade evening meals were amazing. You get what you see, plus a wonderful vibe surrounded by nature. We had such a great stay. The place was hard to find because there are no signs on the house. The host said he was temporarily closing the guest house because he was busy with other projects in Chiang Rai. It’s in a beautiful hilly spot surrounded by nature, away from the city, and would suit anyone who likes simple, secluded living. The straw and bamboo hut lets you fall asleep to the river flowing in the backyard. The owner was extremely friendly and speaks several languages, including his traditional Lahu tribal language. There’s free water, a hot shower, and a mosquito net. Breakfast costs extra. The menu looked good, but I wasn’t hungry then. Nearby activities include Mae Sai waterfall, Doi Bo, and kilometers of hiking trails, along with small hill tribe villages that seemed to be off the usual tourist route.

Mr Thep and his wife Yumi made me feel so welcome. After a tough year with a family bereavement, I needed somewhere to escape to, and HTAH gave me that. The accommodation is simple and basic, but very clean. The surroundings are peaceful, and the scenery is stunning. If you love nature, this is for you. Yumi cooks delicious food, and Mr Thep and his family were genuine, kind hosts. I’d suggest arranging a transfer with Mr Thep, since finding the place on your own could be difficult. The Wi-Fi is excellent if you need to stay in touch back home. I was there for a week and will certainly return next year. Thank you, Mr Thep and family. Mr Chris
