Kong Garden View Resort

The rooms are a good size and the location is quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was okay. But the noise through the walls from neighboring rooms was so loud that I thought someone had come into my room. Customer service could use some work.

The place has plenty of charm, partly because the grounds are a little older. It’s a beautiful property, with nature and lights to enjoy if you take a good look around, plus a small playground for little kids. I’d happily recommend the resort.

The room had a damp smell covered up by an overpowering air freshener, and the food was mostly inedible. Breakfast was limited to rice, toast, and instant coffee from a jar. The hotel is old, inconveniently located, and at 1,300 baht it wasn’t worth the price. It seemed aimed at Chinese group tourists. My bigger concern was what happened on checkout morning. We’d only booked one night, and while we were out for breakfast for 30 minutes, someone came into our room even though checkout was still three hours away. Reception said the cleaner had entered early. Shouldn’t the cleaner and reception communicate about whether guests have checked out? We could still have been asleep at 9 a.m. The trash hadn’t even been emptied, so I don’t understand why she went in that day, or why it happened during the exact half hour we were gone. I’ll be checking every speck of dust in my luggage. This was unacceptable.

The room was clean and had all the amenities, and the location was okay, though you'll need a car because it’s far from the tourist spots. It was very noisy: there was loud music from a wedding banquet, and housekeeping slammed the doors every time they went in or out of a room.
