Sirin Farm

They grow their own organic vegetables and make everything fresh. The people working there are really sweet and happy to tailor things to your needs, for example if you’re vegan or vegetarian. The place is absolutely stunning and peaceful, far from city chaos, with beautiful nature: a stream coming from the waterfall, lush green rice fields and dark green jungle hills.

The villa’s patio had chairs looking out over the stream, a perfect spot for morning tea and coffee before breakfast. We had a wonderful stay at Sirin farm. It was beautiful and peaceful, and the food was great, both Thai and Western.

Sitting on our decking and watching the river go by was lovely, and the setting and rooms were beautiful. But the countryside location felt isolating, especially as there wasn’t much local knowledge to help us find things like scooter hire. There was no laundry service, which was surprising for a 4* place. The coffee was undrinkable, a real shame when Chiang Rai has so much good coffee. We enjoyed Sirin Farm, but those things were disappointing. It was also bizarre that we didn’t seem able to leave a review on booking.com!

The menu is excellent and thoughtfully put together, and everything I ate was lovely. Definitely try the beef Khaosoi. It’s quiet and away from the beaten path, with a lovely stream behind the cafe. You can also buy organic chicken to cook at home. The texture and flavor are fantastic, and it’s not even expensive.
