From the balcony of my room in Building E, the sunset over the Laos side of the Mekong River was stunning. The resort grounds felt magical too, with live peacocks wandering near the gate. We ended up chasing the birds, and that became the evening’s highlight. I also loved the room decor, especially the Thai elephant carvings, which gave it a regal feel. The mosquitoes were everywhere, so bring repellent unless you want to be itchy for the next week. In the early morning, a strong biogas smell from the bathrooms woke me up, and I had to get out of bed to open the windows. The meals were my other letdown. I like Thai food, but the cooking here just wasn’t to my taste.

We spent three lovely nights here by the Mekong. The staff were wonderful and worked hard to make sure we were happy. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, and the pool was nice. The beds were especially comfortable, with high-quality bedding. It’s a little out of the way, but everywhere is only a 10-15 minute drive.

The rooms are nice, but breakfast has a pretty limited selection. There are lots of mosquitoes around the resort, and it’s quite far from restaurants. We had to drive about 20 minutes to find food.

The restaurant has lovely dinner choices, and room service is available too. I sent laundry down at 10:30 in the morning and had it washed, pressed, and back in my room before 6pm. The grounds are pretty, with peacocks wandering around and sweet cats who enjoy a pat. Our river-view room had a balcony overlooking the water and felt so peaceful. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had good amenities. The staff were kind and friendly, always happy to help. I’d absolutely stay here again.
