The views across the Mekong to Laos are nice, but you may be better off bringing a picnic. We tried twice during our four-week holiday and struck out both times. First we went to the hotel/restaurant and couldn’t get served. Today we tried the nearby Olive coffee shop, even though the sign out front said “Open everyday from 8:00-18:00'. No luck there either.

The Mekong view is the one good thing. The rest looked nothing like the photos, which somehow made it seem so nice. 800 baht for a place like this? This is insane. Terrible!

At 750 baht a night, the room was okay and right by the water, with a nice atmosphere. Service was good, though the bed felt a bit hard. Coffee and bread were included in the morning. Small children can stay free if they don’t need an extra bed.

They told us to move to another hotel, and the whole experience was awful, as if we were asking to stay for free. The staff looked displeased and seemed unwilling to have us there. The room itself was okay, not too bad, but the balcony was dusty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The air conditioning didn’t work.
