Asamakorn Residence

I couldn’t stay for the several nights I’d planned because the mattress was so hard that my back started aching. I’ve never had one this firm in a 600 baht room. The room was a good size, all on one level, and the bathroom was spacious and clean, though it looked a little dated, especially the sink. The location is handy, with plenty of food nearby.

There’s a lot of space around the property and plenty of parking. The room had everything I needed, including a TV, refrigerator, and toiletries, and it was very clean. The blankets were sterilized and sealed in plastic bags. The rate was 600 baht a night. It’s owned by the same owner, who recommended this place because there are many noisy Chinese people inside the building. The service was good.

It’s easy to find food here, with restaurants all along the entrance and a 7-Eleven right in front. The room itself is old, the blankets are thin, and there’s no soap or shampoo. Sound carries because the room isn’t soundproof. The key is hard to turn and makes me worry it’ll snap; I have to twist it back and forth several times whenever I use it. There’s no key storage service at the front desk.

I was exhausted after coming from out of town for business and just wanted somewhere to rest. The first room wasn’t good, and the replacement was worse, as if it hadn’t been cleaned at all. It didn’t match the reviews. I was left wondering how long the blankets had been used or whether they’d even been washed. I was very disappointed and would rather give up the room and drive back to my hometown to sleep.
