At checkout I asked for my 500 Baths deposit back, but staff said it was for an extra bed. That surprised me because when I called around 1 pm to ask about a room for 3 adults, they quoted 1100 Baths plus 500 Baths for the extra bath, 1600 Baths total without breakfast. We accepted and checked in at 2:00 pm, then paid the 500 Baths deposit. When I argued, they returned the 500 Baths with an unhappy face. Since I wanted to write this review, I didn’t take the money.

The pool was absolutely filthy, and the showers had broken heads with no pressure. Rooms are starting to look worn, despite the hotel not being very old. Parking was poor too: they escorted us to a spot outside in the sun. At 2500+ for a weekend night, that was disappointing. They also wouldn’t allow a late checkout, even though we hadn’t checked in until 10pm.

The sea is just 10 meters away, and there’s a pool on the bottom floor. Rooms are clean and very nice, and you can smoke on the balcony.

Bang Saen isn’t a wild tourist beach strip, which suited us for a relaxing couple of days among nice Thais. We had a great sea view and were close to everything. The room was very nice, especially compared with another hotel where we’d paid 200 Baht more and got less.

The room was bigger than I expected and had a lovely Seaview, so it felt well worth B1100+. The car park is a bit small, but since we came on Monday it was all right. She deserves 5 stars!
