Doembangvilla

The owner met me at checkout and spoke good English. I asked if he'd been an engineer because the rooms seemed so well designed and everything worked as it should, and he said yes, before retiring 555. I've stayed here again since then, and liked it just as much as the first time. On the later visit we also found more things to do: bikes you can use for free, kayaks, fruit to pick, and turtles to feed. It's a nice place to stay. I've travelled a lot around TH during these past 2 COVID years, and plenty of places have deferred maintenance. This one didn't.

The owners are a retired couple, and they're very friendly and helpful. Ask them about places to eat and they'll point you toward restaurants they trust. It's a relaxing spot by the river, where you can feed the fish over breakfast. Free bicycles are available for a ride around the resort. Toiletries are provided in sufficient amounts, though I'd bring my own. There's no hair dryer in the room, but you can borrow one from reception.

Mongo house has two separate rooms, but you can hear one another, so you'll need to keep quiet. The resort itself is really cute, with a nice, clean, comfortable room and sweet, kind owners.

It's a nice atmosphere for taking things slowly and relaxing. The cleanliness could be more thorough, and that's why I took off a star, but overall it's still a good place to unwind.
