Fang Modern Hotel

The location is a bit far from restaurants, so having transportation is best. We took a long walk through the farmland, with its lovely raised walkway and peaceful sitting hut. The rooms were clean and modern.

It’s set back quite far from the road, so it suits anyone who wants a quiet night’s sleep. The rural view is lovely for photos, and the location is good. The room was just okay.

The villa’s extra bed was small and uncomfortable, and it sagged downward 😤. That came after a frustrating check-in: I’d booked the loft villa through Agoda for five people rather than the usual four and asked about an extra bed. The owner said by email that it was possible for 150 baht, but on arrival they asked for 200 baht, saying that rate applied because I’d booked a villa, not a normal room. The email had been about the villa booking too. I didn’t want to argue, so I paid. There were leaks at both the living hall basin and the toilet. The living hall itself was very small and cramped, and ants covered the basin area and eventually crawled everywhere 😣. I also paid more through Agoda than the walk-in rates. One of our normal rooms was around 600 baht on Agoda. To upgrade it to a room by the paddy field, the owner asked us to add 800 baht, even though the walk-in price was only 1200 baht. Finally, they served four breakfasts for our five-person group. We told them about the missing one, but nothing was done.

The surroundings are nice, but there seemed to be no understanding of basic hotel operations. The washbasin still had its label stuck to the ceramic. The toilet door knob was missing, with the hole covered by a thin square piece of wood. The floor tiles were very slippery, especially with a floor mat on them, which felt dangerous. It seemed like guest safety and security weren’t a concern.
