Phu Jaya Floresta Resort

You’ll need a motorbike or car to get around, since there are no taxis or Grab nearby. Still, we loved our stay at Phu Jaya Floresta Resort. It was a peaceful escape, with a clean, spacious room and a lovely jungle view. The room felt calm and cozy, just right for relaxing. The staff didn’t speak English, but the person handling WhatsApp was very helpful and replied in English.

Staff were friendly, and everything was clean and in working order. The AC worked well, and there was hot water in the bathroom. The room had a large bed, comfortable but too firm for me, plus a modern TV, wardrobe, fridge, and kettle. No coffee was provided. I liked the porch overlooking the garden, though the back wall was all windows and had no view. Landscaping that area could make it really special. It’s a cute little resort built into a steep hillside above the road down the mountain. There’s parking for four or five cars. Sorry I only stayed one night.

It’s a really cute, affordable place. The drive from downtown Chiang Mai can feel a bit long, but if you want somewhere nice to stay in the mountains, this is a good option.

We came across this place by chance. The cafe/restaurant is a rotating house that turns 360 degrees, but someone has to switch it on. When we visited, the main door faced a small cliff, and we wondered about the design until we realized it can be turned using the big motor underneath the cafe. We had local food. The dishes were small but good, more cafe-style. There were 12 of us and we took up the whole place. The coffee and other drinks were not too bad. It was good enough that we’d come back for another meal. Check it out if you’re nearby and like to eat "clean".
