Hatyai Rama Hotel

Breakfast was varied and tasty, and the Wi-Fi stayed fairly steady. The staff were friendly, and the prices were affordable. The hotel is conveniently placed near downtown Hat Yai, though it does feel a little dated. It worked well for a short budget stay.

The hard mattress was the main issue for me, which is why I rated the room three stars. If they put in softer mattresses, I'd likely return on my next trip. I stayed three nights last weekend. This is an old hotel, at least 25 years old from what I remember, and it holds a lot of good memories for me. It has stayed clean, cozy and well kept over the years, and I noticed renovations during this latest visit. The location suits me: away from the noisy bustle, but still close enough to walk a little over 1 km to the Lee Garden night area. The elevators worked, though a few button lights inside the lifts and in the lobby were faulty. Those seem like small issues that could be fixed quickly.

The staff were very unfriendly, and the bed was too hard. The air conditioner compressor was so noisy that it was difficult to sleep properly. They don't provide an iron either.

It's an older-style hotel, but it's clean and in a handy spot. You're away from the crowds while still close enough to walk.
