Pang Mai Resort

The staff and service crew were extremely friendly, and the service dog was lovely. The bedsheets and pillows were clean, and the place felt relaxing once I got used to the natural surroundings. The chalets caught me off guard at first, but I ended up liking them. It's tucked into a little corner and can be hard to find, though the local area has cheap, tasty food for locals. One chalet fits two adults and two children, but more than that would feel cramped. The water pressure was low and I didn't like the bathroom. Bring mosquito repellent, since there are mosquitoes in this natural setting. It's low cost, so what more can I say? I'd come back with my family.

We checked in, but didn't stay. The room felt dingy straight away, with ants around the doors and in the bathroom. We asked the woman for ant spray and she came to treat the area, but then we found lizards and loads of cockroaches in the bathroom. We appreciated her trying to help, though they kept coming, and even she was scared and ran from them. We asked for a refund and booked somewhere else. The location was awful for us. We arrived in the evening and had to go to 7-11 for tea because there were no restaurants within walking distance. I wouldn't call this a resort, and I'm baffled by its fairly good reviews. I wouldn't recommend it.

The rates are low, and the place is budget accommodation, so it does fit the idea that you get what you pay for. The very hard bed made for an uncomfortable night's sleep, one of several reasons I'd give it three stars.

We had paid online for five rooms, but when we arrived, a staff member told us only two were available. We'd booked all five in advance, and then had to look for another hotel when every room elsewhere was sold out. I don't know what to say. The owner and staff weren't friendly to customers either. Bad service.
