S Hadyai Hotel

My experience here was really bad. At check-in, make sure you get a list of what’s supposed to be in the room and check that it’s all there. There are three towel sizes, small, medium, and large. If one is missing, reception may say it was there and ask you to pay for it. When I asked how they knew all the towels had been placed in the room, reception said housekeeping would 100% never make a mistake.

The hotel has been newly renovated, and everything else was good. My room, though, hadn’t been renovated yet.

The room was bigger, but there was nothing else that felt exclusive about the suite for the price. The facilities were okay, with a pool, lift, and free parking. The AC in the room was poorly maintained and noisy. There was a terrible smell, probably from the drain or sewer, that got stronger by the living room sink and toilet. I didn’t even want to use the bathtub. The sofa cushions had lots of stains. I’ve visited Thailand many times and am used to warm, smiling welcomes, but that wasn’t the feeling here. The receptionist was okay, while some other staff looked at us as if we owed them a lot of money. When I asked for a bottle opener, a staff member claimed they were on duty alone and couldn’t bring it upstairs, but when I went down to get it, they were chatting with friends or other staff. The location wasn’t especially good either, and little here felt worth the price.

The room and location were good, but this was the worst and most humiliating hotel experience we’ve had, despite staying in thousands of hotels. They seemed willing to do anything to keep the deposit, even blaming us because a towel was slightly dirty when the mark could be wiped off with a bare hand. Ladies, be careful, don’t use their towels to remove makeup.
