The Restique Apartment

The room was very clean, and I loved the location and restaurant. The staff were really nice too, and it feels like a family-run business. I’ll definitely come back.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed it. The café had great breakfast and coffee, and the service was very friendly. The room was spacious. There was a slightly musty smell from the wooden furniture on the first day, but it wasn't an issue after that. It's in a quiet alley, yet plenty of eateries are within walking distance. Sound insulation was pretty good, the balcony was spacious, and the aircon worked well. The shower gets very hot, so be careful. The pillows were comfy, though the bed felt a bit firmer than expected. There’s no hairdryer, but maybe you can ask reception for one. The main nuisance was the bathroom floor slope. Water ran into the dry area while showering. For the price, I'd still recommend this hotel.

The lobby and café feel like a leafy, breezy resort escape in the city. There are plenty of marked parking spaces, protected by a boom gate. Breakfast at the café was fantastic, with five-star service. I recommend trying it. Our waitress was a wonderful host and could speak a little Mandarin, and the boss was friendly. The room was huge, with a super king mattress measuring 200x200cm, big enough for three average-sized women. I found the mattress too firm, with good support but little comfort. The toilet also needs a ventilation fan, and there wasn't enough space to hang towels or shirts. Otherwise, I'd have given five stars.

It felt like a lovely family-run place. Grab rides were easy to get, and Grab food could be delivered to the box by the hotel entrance. Only one or two staff spoke fluent English, but everyone was kind and patient. There was ample space to pray in the room, and the direction of the private window suited me as a muslimah. I would have liked day curtains. I also hope they add more eco-friendly touches, such as refillable water jugs or soap dispensers instead of bottles, and a fan in the room.
