Baan Pattamaporn Hotel

The area is quiet, and it’s about a 10-minute local bus ride to the city centre. There’s a balcony facing either the sunset or sunrise, plus cheap local food nearby. The beach and a 7-11 are both about a two-minute walk away. The staff don’t really speak English, but we’re in Thailand. You get what you pay for, and I liked it. I don’t get the bad reviews. Some people pay a low price and still expect Thailand to owe them something, as if everyone should bow to them.

We brought our bicycles and only needed a clean place for one night. It was quiet, calm, spacious, very clean, and had a balcony, so it suited us well. For $16, this was what I expected and probably a bit better. The front desk wasn’t especially friendly, though if you’ve been to Southeast Asia you know they’re being nice. I assume there used to be a swimwear store in the building, but it didn’t work out, and everything is there. The location worked for us because we did everything by bike. If you want to be closer to town, this may not be the right spot, or you may need Grab.

Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Thailand, with a good spread of fresh homemade Thai food, fruit, juice, coffee, biscuits, and cake. The hotel also has parking and an elevator. Our room was nicely decorated, the bed was lovely and comfortable with soft sheets, and there was a kettle. We couldn’t find any English, unfortunately. Really enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend it enough.

I stayed for three months and loved the place. The owners run it themselves and were kind and incredibly helpful. She speaks excellent English. It’s a quiet, easy location near the beach and the beachside play park. Rooms are super clean, with big comfortable beds and nice balconies; the upper floors have especially good views. There’s a water purifier in the building, and you can feel the difference in the shower. It also has an elevator, plenty of parking, camera security, fast WiFi, and a flat-screen TV with hundreds of channels. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are available.
