Black Mountain Resort

I still remember Black Mountain Golf Club as a vivid picture: damp grass, the crisp click of the ball, and a beautiful stillness. Walking beneath the mountains seemed to loosen the tangled thoughts from my busy life, and I often think back to that quiet round now. I hope I can return and feel that silence again someday. On my solo trip to this calm corner of Thailand three years ago, I found a rare kind of serenity in Hua Hin, and an even deeper quiet at the course. At my first tee shot one cool, misty morning, the emerald fairway felt like a clear glass box where time had paused before the day's noise began. The place had a quiet elegance that didn't need to show off its luxury.

The original East/North layout is the one we played, and I’d recommend it. From the white/blue tees it isn’t especially long, but there’s plenty of trouble from hazards and water across many holes. The greens were neatly kept and quick, around 10 when we visited, and every time we’ve played the course has been in immaculate shape. It’s one of my favourite courses in Thailand. The clubhouse has a lovely view, and it’s worth staying for some food or drinks after the round. The driving range is very good too, with lots of targets and an air-conditioned lounge to relax in.

The three different 9-hole rounds make for a really interesting course. It’s a spectacular place, very well run, and a great, challenging design. Fairways, greens and tee boxes were immaculate, and the caddies were lovely.

After trying a lot of courses around Hua Hin, Black Mountain GC is way ahead of the others. The facilities are unbeatable, from the shop and clubhouse to the bar, and the course itself is fabulous. Nuk no 061 was an incredibly fun and professional caddy, a full 10 out of 10. The club knows how to make a golf day unforgettable. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!
