Despite everything else, it was superb. The place is competing with the Bates Motel for quality and cleanliness: broken, dirty, old and creaky, with no hot water and paint bubbling all over. The doors only opened halfway, and my girlfriend had spectral fears too.

It's low season, and this was the only place I'd seen with people in it, so I stopped in. I just had an omelet, juice, and an espresso. It was excellent, and I'm glad I gave it a try.

The kindness from the staff and front office really stayed with me. I've stayed at more than 150 hotels and resorts in Thailand, but I won't forget how helpful they were here. It's also just 400 meters from a nice beach and temples, with a restaurant on the first floor at very good prices and a nice pool. They even surprised me for my birthday. One of my favorite resorts in Hua Hin, and I'd recommend it.

The kids had a great time in the pool, and breakfast was good. Our rooms were comfortable, and the hotel was kept clean throughout our stay. The staff were really friendly too. There are restaurants, massage places, and a 7-11 across the street, plus the beach is a short walk away. Our family really enjoyed staying at Napalai.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the pool was nice. It felt like good value, but the Wi-Fi was barely usable and the AC didn't work well. Breakfast was finally ready an hour late, maybe the staff hadn't shown up? 🤷🏼♂️
