Nern Chalet Beachfront Hotel

We had a lot in common with the owner, who was planning to visit her child at a US university later that year. The management was great and even drove us to the train for our trip back to BKK. It’s a beautiful, quiet place. I’ll always remember having breakfast by the infinity pool and how relaxing it was.

We’re moving from the US to Hua Hin and planned to spend a week here while searching for a long-term home. The move and all the pet import paperwork were stressful, so we had to change our arrival date twice. Even before we’ve checked in, Nern Chalet Beachfront Hotel Hua Hin has impressed us. The hotel quickly and kindly adjusted the reservation each time, with no trouble. Their flexibility and care have made us feel confident and happy about staying at Nern Chalet.

The location is a long way from the city center. You can walk 8 min to the Baht Bus station or use Grab, and we had a motorbike. There’s little service here beyond a poor breakfast, so you’ll have to go out to eat. I spotted one nearby restaurant that looked good, but it only opens at 6pm. The small restaurants on Monkey Hill have good food options and coastline views, and stay open past sunset. The mixed cocktails weren’t great. I stayed 3 nights in a sea view room with a wrap around deck, and found the hotel and room very overpriced. The windows were the dirtiest I’ve seen in my 40 years off travels. They cleaned the large windows, but left the hard-to-reach ones untouched. The aircon smelled musty, and the room’s condition and décor were old and worn. Breakfast was what I’d expect at a much cheaper hotel. I wouldn’t stay again. FYI, I think dogs being allowed may be why the review rating is higher, since owners love the place.

I stayed for two separate weeks and a couple of extra days. The staff were very good, and the employees were helpful.
