We booked through Booking.com and were really disappointed. As soon as we arrived, it was clear that this was someone’s home. There were personal belongings everywhere, plus old shampoo bottles and condiments in the cupboards, which made the place uncomfortable. There was no water from the taps or shower. We told the manager, only to find out he already knew it had all been turned off. The big TV had no channels either, presumably because the owner hadn’t paid the bill. We reported that too. The manager said he’d call someone to look at it, but didn’t know when they’d come. I complained to Booking.com. They were polite, but only arranged for us to stay one night instead of three. We were charged the full price for that, and I noticed an extra 350 baht cleaning charge. That seemed very strange when we hadn’t unpacked or showered, just slept in the bed and left first thing in the morning. I rarely complain, but I think it’s only fair to warn others so they don’t make the same mistake we did.

The room was comfortable, clean and had a lovely sea view, and there's a handy convenience store across the road. The grounds look nice too, though the pool is on the small side. Finding the entrance was tricky because it barely shows up on the road view. I also waited about an hour for the plumbing water I had requested three times.

The location is handy, just outside town, with some good Thai food nearby alongside a few cheesy tourist places. A Song Thaew to the night market is about 10 Bhatt, or a tuk tuk costs 100 to 150 Bhatt. The residence and pool are lovely, but our booking was messed up. We first had a nice twin bedroom apartment, then got moved to a smaller room said to sleep five, apparently on one bed. It was fine for a couple of nights, but there didn't seem to be staff servicing the apartments, like emptying the bins. We also had no hand soap and only one small roll of toilet paper.

We paid for a room for six, but on arrival were told only two "4 person" bedrooms were available and we'd have to pay extra. When we objected, they called us "cheap Indians," even though we're from America. We had nowhere else to go, so looked at the rooms anyway. A "4 person" bedroom turned out to be one queen bed plus a thin mattress topper for the floor. The sheets had stains, there was no soap or other amenities, and the staff were terribly rude. Horrible, racist rental property. Stay far away.
