K2 Xanadu Pool Villa

Run!!!!!!😱😱😱 Nothing else on our Thailand trip came close to how bad this hotel was. We arrived around noon to drop our bags, and the front desk asked us to switch rooms because of a cleaning issue. We agreed. When we came back about 4 PM, housekeeping was still working through every room, with rubbish bags everywhere, and none looked ready. We had paid around $450-500 for a villa hoping for a calm, temple-like setting and a chance to swim during the day. The room wasn't usable. The floor was so filthy our feet turned black. Dead bugs were on the curtains and furniture, and there were several unexplained marks on the bedding. Staff still said it had been cleaned. The pool was green with algae, insects, and leaves, and they told us to swim while they waited to clean it. Every bedroom window frame was out of alignment, so it seemed easy for bugs to get in. We spoke with reception and got a full refund through Agoda. We heard staff on the phone with the villa owner, and the exchange sounded very unprofessional. Management offered neither an apology nor a clear explanation. We won't be back.
