The Soul Resort

The flower fields between the resort and the mountains are stunning. People stretch out on shaded cabanas just to look at them. The resort’s activities are unusual in a good way, like visiting Buddhist shrines in caves deep inside the mountains or doing morning yoga to birdsong. The food wasn’t five-star gourmet, but I still thought it was wonderful. I had a magical weekend and hope to come back someday. The place is even more beautiful than the photos, and the amenities feel charming and generous. It was a highlight of my month in Thailand. If you get the chance to visit, don’t hesitate.

We broke up our trip between cities with two nights here. The surroundings are beautiful and the resort is very quiet. Our room was spacious, fabulous, and well equipped. The staff were exceptionally polite and kind. Special thanks to Par and Locktao, the restaurant waitresses, who were attentive, lovely, and just amazing. I highly recommend this hotel.

The standout for us was the pool, spa, and Petra poolbar, all truly five-star. Housekeeping, restaurant, and reception staff were welcoming and friendly. Mrs Chali, the front desk manager, deserves seven stars. She was open and lovely, spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humor, and did everything she could to make our stay wonderful. We spent three nights at the Soul, in a perfect high-floor room in Pristine 1. The hotel is stylishly decorated with great taste, and the gardens and spectacular view are overwhelming. It really gave us a five-star feeling. There were downsides. On the first day and early the next morning, a very large group of mindfulness Buddhist believers in white clothes prayed and played music nonstop. Waking at 5 to their repetitive, indoctrinated prayers was unpleasant. We were glad when they checked out and left. There was also loud construction noise daily from 9 to 15, just beyond the grounds behind the meditation area. It was hard to hear that noise in a place meant for wellness and mindfulness. The breakfast buffet was perfect once, but on the other days it was a la carte and could have been better. The restaurant food could improve too, especially the chicken dishes. Salads and pasta were fine. Would I return? Yes, definitely, but only when there are no sect groups or construction noise.

The service is excellent and the breakfast is delicious and good quality. It’s a quiet, luxurious place suited to people looking to relax, focus on their health, or enjoy activities in nature. Overall, I thought it was very good, and it’s worth coming at least once.
